My Public Display of Dieting – Week 40

RESULTS: ON VACATION!!

I've been on vacation this past week. I can't remember the last time John and I were on a real vacation. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed and carefree. It was wonderful! (It took a few days to get to that point, but it was awesome!)

And since we'd originally picked this date months ago because it coincided with John's birthday, there was a lot of eating from day one! 😀 We had cake and ice cream and a million snacks the first day when a few friends came over to surprise John for his birthday. Then we went to the grocery store and found some great items in the Manager's Meat Specials section and John made an amazing steak and potatoes and blackened green beans meal on Monday.

We had a gazillion different breakfast pastries, chocolate chip blueberry pancakes, eggs and maple bacon, eggs and breakfast steak, hashbrown-stuffed hamburgers, gallons of soda pop, wine and hard cider and whiskey (one of John's birthday presents), and a half dozen treats we picked up at Costco before we got to the resort.

And that doesn't include all the things we ate but forgot about!! 😀

It was a super fun week for a dozen reasons, and we really enjoyed it. Our shorts definitely felt tighter on the return trip home, but it was worth it. As of today, we are both back on the wagon. Very little sugar or alcohol, very little bread, very few calories in general! Haha!

So next week, after I get rid of whatever I gained this past week, I'll get on the scale again and keep working at my goal of losing 50 pounds in 50 weeks. Since I'm about 10-ish pounds behind, I'll almost certainly have to extend my time frame for my 50-pound goal, but I'll keep going till I hit it. Yay!
