Thanks, Friends, For a Great 2011!

January 16, 2012

Happy New Year, everyone!

After writing up the details of my self-publishing adventure for 2011, I realized that I have a lot of friends! Due to your interest in my book, Little Miss Lovesick, I sold over 100 copies in little more than three months with no advertising and little promotion. Yay!

Now that our move back to the U.S. is more or less complete, the holidays are over, and we’re into some semblance of a schedule here at the Bucholtz house – which is really the Schell house’s guest room 😉 – I am trying ever harder to get my writing work done. My to do list is so long – is yours?? But I’m working on it.

This week I’m teaching an online class on goal setting and time management for writers, and trying to finish a short story that is due by Saturday. And of course, being out of the country for so long, I forgot about Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the fact that people are not going to work on Monday. Poor me, I’m going have to go to the movies with John in the afternoon. LOL! So that’s another half a day gone.

Oh well. Life is short and you have to focus on what’s important. No, I don’t mean that it’s important that I find out what happens in The Adventures of Tintin. People are the most important part of life. So I want to spend time with John and our friends. I also want to spend more time with you.

As with many people with blogs, I had a really hard time trying to figure out what I was supposed to be writing about here that was going to be so interesting that hundreds of people would want to stop by and read it. Last week when I was talking to God about the problem, it occurred to me that I should just write to my friends the way I love to on email or on Facebook.

So that’s what I’m going to do.  🙂

Friends, I really appreciate you and I’m so glad that we’re on this little journey together. Thanks for hanging out with me. I’m so glad you enjoyed Little Miss Lovesick, and I’m working on my next book with you in mind. I’d really like to make you laugh again, one of my favorite things to do.  🙂

I hope your new year is starting out with laughter and promise. I’ll check in with you every Monday and see how things are going. Let me know what’s new. I’ll do the same.

Meanwhile, God bless your week with peace and joy! (And find a good book to read on your day off! LOL!)
